About Sophie Callen.

Sophie is a passionate and empathetic registered psychologist with experience working clients of a range of ages and backgrounds in both hospital and private practice settings. Sophie is a health psychology registrar with a special focus on chronic pain, peri and postnatal issues, health and behaviour change, women’s health and chronic illness. She also has a special interest in areas such as anxiety, depression, stress, confidence, self-esteem, image and weight concerns, adjustment and parenting. Sophie also works with autism and ADHD and takes a neurodiversity-affirming approach to support neurodiverse individuals.

In sessions with Sophie, clients can expect a compassionate, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach. Sophie highly prioritises the therapeutic relationship and wants to ensure that her clients feel heard, validated, and supported. She aims to empower clients to translate their work in the therapy space to meaningful and impactful change in their lives. Sophie’s therapeutic approach draws upon a range of evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches. Sessions are tailored to the client’s individual needs and preferences and targeted towards therapeutic goals.
